Company History for Medical Care Alert

• 2008    Company founded, based in Northville, Michigan doing business as “Medical Home Alert” providing service in all 50 states.
• 2010    Introduced our first HOME & AWAY mobile personal emergency response system with GPS tracking.  This was a big step, now providing medical alert monitoring services both inside and away from the home.
• 2012    Company rebranded as “Medical Care Alert”.  New offerings include the HOME, HOME & YARD, and HOME & AWAY systems.
• 2012    Awarded the Angie’s List Super Service Award for the first time!
• 2013    As our clients began getting rid of their traditional landline home phone lines, we introduced the HOME-3G Medical Alert System.  The HOME-3G was among the first in-home PERS systems with built in cellular communication, bypassing the need for a home landline.
• 2013    Awarded the Angie’s List Super Service Award for the second time!
• 2014    Awarded the Angie’s List Super Service Award for the third time!
• 2015    Introduced the HOME & AWAY ELITE mobile medical alert system with GPS and AutoFALL Fall Detection.   The ELITE was sleek, lightweight, and had an advanced automatic fall detection algorithm to distinguish between regular movements and an actual fall situation.
• 2015    Awarded the Angie’s List Super Service Award for the fourth time!
• 2016    Medical Care Alert’s emergency response center awarded “Monitoring Center of the Year” by CSAA (now The Monitoring Association).
• 2016    Awarded the Angie’s List Super Service Award for the fifth time!
• 2017    Named to the University of Florida’s “Gator100” list of fastest growing alumni-led companies at #88.
• 2017    Awarded the Angie’s List Super Service Award for the sixth time!
• 2018    Introduced the HOME & AWAY PRIMO mobile medical alert system with GPS and AutoFALL Fall Detection.   The PRIMO included an innovative web-portal for caregivers to track their loved one’s device at any time.
• 2018    Named to the University of Florida’s “Gator100” list of fastest growing alumni-led companies at #68.
• 2018    Awarded the Angie’s List Super Service Award for the seventh consecutive time!
• 2019    Introduced the HOME & AWAY ULTRA mobile medical alert system with GPS and AutoFALL Fall Detection.  The ULTRA offered new 4G cellular communications, a longer battery life, choice of AT&T or Verizon as the cellular carrier, and a unique caregiver smartphone app to track the device location and more.
• 2019    Named to the University of Florida’s “Gator100” list of fastest growing alumni-led companies at #49.
• 2019    Introduced the HOME-LTE in-home medical alert system to replace the HOME-3G.  The HOME-LTE is our most popular system, offering reliable 4G LTE cellular communications, choice of AT&T or Verizon as the cellular carrier, a choice of button styles including AutoFALL Fall Detection.
• 2019    Named “Best Medical Alert Monitoring” company by Caring.com.
• 2020    Introduced the HOME & AWAY DUO mobile medical alert system with GPS and AutoFALL Fall Detection.   The DUO included a wearable button separate from the GPS device, providing extra flexibility on how to wear the system.
• 2020    In response to Covid-19 concerns, we introduced the MedReady Automatic Pill Dispenser.   The MedReady improves compliance with taking medications and can notify caregivers when a dosage is missed.
• 2021    Medical Care Alert ranked #3 Best Medical Alert system by U.S. News & World Report.
• 2022    All U. S. Cellular carriers retired the 3G cellular network in a nationwide event known as the “3G Sunset”.  Medical Care Alert replaced thousands of our clients’ old 3G-based devices (which would no longer be able to make outbound emergency calls) with new 4G LTE based devices all at no cost to our clients.
• 2023    Forbes Health names Medical Care Alert’s HOME & AWAY ULTRA as the “Best of 2023”.
• 2023    Introduced our first smart watch system, the SmartWatch PRO.  The SmartWatch PRO is the first smart watch to have reliable AutoFALL Fall Detection sensors that can be worn on the wrist and designed for seniors.  Along with a smartphone caregiver app, the SmartWatch PRO is one of our most popular systems ever.
• 2023    Introduced the HOME & AWAY MINI mobile medical alert system with GPS and AutoFALL Fall Detection.  The MINI is our smallest mobile system to date, and is available for both AT&T and T-Mobile cellular systems.
• 2024     Moved to our new home in Livonia, Michigan expanding our office space and upgrading our facility.
• 2024    Introduced the HOME & AWAY FLEX mobile medical alert system with GPS and AutoFALL Fall Detection.  Replacing the HOME & AWAY ULTRA, the FLEX offers up to 5 days of battery life and simple single-button design for ease of use.
• 2025    U.S. News & World Report names Medical Care Alert’s SmartWatch PRO as “Best Overall Smart Watch for Seniors”.
